Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 to embrace new Carinthia Lounge in May 2016

Operator of upscale ocean liners, Cunard, is gearing up to transform the Winter Garden aboard its Queen Mary 2 vessel into an elegant new venue, Carinthia Lounge, once the ship begins its multi-million dollar refit which will be commence on May 27, 2016.

Boasting a fresh and relaxing colour palette of powder blue, cream and gold, the Carinthia Lounge will be ready to embrace the elite throughout the day, with the venue making for an ideal option for light breakfasts and lunches in the mornings and afternoons, and an elegant and sociable destination in the evening perfect for drinks and relaxed entertainment. 

Those visiting the new venue will enjoy its dedicated patisserie and an afternoon tea service, with the option of a special Veuve Cliquot Champagne Afternoon Tea experience.

Enthusing on the news was Richard Meadows, president, Cunard, North America: “The Carinthia embodied the spirit of travel in the 1920s, which saw the rise in popularity in world voyages and winter cruises, and it is our honour to bestow this name onto our new lounge set to launch following refit.”
