New therapeutic hospitality player graces Qatar

Qatar has opened its arms to its largest therapeutic tourism project yet – the Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa.

Now open, Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa is a true 211,000m2 spectacle, boasting an impressive 4,000m man-made lake, stunning waterfalls and an equally impressive 480m man-made river, all adorned by breathtaking scenery.

The resort is also home to a 3,500m2 medical centre with 45 treatment rooms, offering discerning guests weight loss programmes, diabetes prevention programmes and metabolism and anti-aging treatments.

With recreational facilities aplenty, guests can look forward a state-of-the-art meeting venue, accommodating up to 1,000 people; a business centre with cutting edge equipment; a lavish cosmetics shop; a fitness centre; 19 indoor and outdoor swimming pools; tennis courts; a green area; and a Vichy cosmetics-dedicated store.

The resort will be managed by Retaj Hospitality and Hotels Company, which is a homegrown Qatari company, in collaboration with Vichy, a renowned French spa and wellness expert.

HE Hassan Bin Abdullah Ghanem Al Ghanim, owner, Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa explained that the resort is one of the Middle East’s leading projects in terms of the hospitality and the medical tourism sector, comprising 168 units divided into 78 rooms and suites, and 90 villas, each of which consists of one to three rooms.

Dr. Mohammed Bin Johar Al-Mohammad, vice chairman and managing director, Retaj Group noted that the new resort embodies Retaj's vision to expand on local, regional and international levels.

“The aspirations of Retaj Hospitality and Hotels and its internal and external expansion is based on the vision of the group of building partnerships and expansions aimed at spreading the culture of genuine Arab and halal hospitality, while serving [guests] through modern methods to ensure satisfaction, and to fulfill the aspirations of our customers, whether inside or outside Qatar,” Dr. Al-Mohammad remarked.

Equally thrilled with the opening was Ahmed Khorshid, general manager, Vichy Célestins Spa Resort Retaj Salwa: "Retaj Salwa is the realisation of a new concept of hospitality in Qatar that combines hospitality and healthcare, with a new approach to service delivery. Retaj Group seeks expansion in offering and developing such concepts as per the latest international systems."
