Minor Hotels to make history with triple opening in Doha

Minor Hotels will be boosting its Middle Eastern portfolio with three new-build hotels in Qatar, all of which are scheduled to open for business in spring 2018 under its exceptional Tivoli and Oaks brands.

“The Middle East is a key growth market for Minor Hotels and we are delighted to be opening two new Tivoli hotels and debuting the Oaks brand in Qatar,” enthused Dillip Rajakarier, CEO, Minor Hotels.

“We are delivering on our promise, when we acquired Tivoli last year, to grow the brand within Minor Hotels’ footprint and we will see the brand grow further. Qatar will be the second GCC country for Oaks and there is also opportunity to further grow this brand.”

Tivoli Al Najada Doha Hotel, which is set to grace Qatar in April and will form part of a new development in the city, comprises five-storeys’ worth of facilities, including 151 guest rooms and suites, a variety of dining outlets, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a business centre.

Among its extensive list of facilities will be a glorious ballroom, designed to cater to elegant soirees and social occasions, in addition to corporate meetings and events, with a capacity of 250 guests.

Meanwhile, Minor Hotels’ Oaks Hotels & Resorts will mark its grand debut in the dazzling city with Oaks Al Najada Doha, also scheduled to open its doors during the divine spring season in April.

Part of the same development as Tivoli Al Najada Doha Hotel, Oaks Al Najada Doha houses 100 serviced apartments, all boasting elegant, minimalist interiors, combined with artistic Arabian elements.

The property will comprise premium facilities, such as an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, top notch alfresco dining, a pool bar and 24-hour room service.

Both of the opulent properties are within easy walking distance of the new Msheireb Downtown Doha development, Bank Street, the Museum of Islamic Arts and the renowned Souq Waqif.

Finally, the five-star Souq Al Wakra Hotel Qatar by Tivoli – the last of the three properties to be announced by Minor Hotels – will contribute artful Qatari tradition and high-end, contemporary leisure to the Souq Al Wakra scene – an up-and-coming seaside district found 20 minutes away from the buzzing city centre.

The unique, 101-key property is made up of two buildings and offers guestrooms and suites with classic thatched roofs and quaint sea and sand motifs, inspired by Al Wakra’s history as a pearl diving and fishing village.

Facilities are inclusive of F&B options, a shisha lounge overlooking the sea, majlis areas, meeting rooms, Tivoli Spa and Fitness, and a business centre.

The launch of these three new properties in Doha is set to catapult the local hospitality sector towards the economic diversification, as envisioned by the Qatar National Vision 2030.
