Milan’s Excelsior Hotel Gallia joins The Luxury Collection

The architectural masterpiece that is Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan, is joining Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s prestigious The Luxury Collection portfolio, marking the collection’s seventh property in culture-fuelled Italy.

The stunning Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Milan – owned by Katara Hospitality – is scheduled to re-open its grand doors in November 2014, following a comprehensive renovation project.

Historic architectural gems such as Excelsior Hotel Gallia are perfectly suited to The Luxury Collection brand, which offers authentic travel experiences and exceptional service for global explorers and the local community.

We have made a major investment to bring this grand property back to its true glory.”

Standing proud within the hustle and bustle of the Piazza Duca d’Aosta, Excelsior Hotel Gallia opened in 1932. Following extensive renovation works and strategic expansion plans, the property will transform to combine a luxurious contemporary design with the Belle Époque architectural style.

Upon completion, the luxury property will offer 235 elegant guest rooms and suites, a delectable signature restaurant and a rooftop bar with awe-inspiring panoramic views of the city, an elegant lounge bar and a cigar room, plus 1,000m² of wellness facilities including a spa to revitalise and relax in, an indoor swimming pool to soak in and fitness centre.

As for meeting and event space, Excelsior Hotel Gallia will offer a congress centre spanning more than 1,000m² and comprising two ballrooms, six meeting rooms and a business centre.
