Mandarin Oriental: An iconic addition planned for UAE portfolio

The world-renowned Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group recently inked a deal to manage and rebrand the iconic Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi.

On January 1, 2020, the group will assume management of the awe-inspiring property, which will bump up its portfolio in the UAE to two prominent hotels, the second of which is the recently opened jewel – Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai.

James Riley, chief executive, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, spoke on the game-changing project: “This is a unique opportunity to manage one of the most high-profile properties in the Middle East and will be an excellent addition to our portfolio in the region. We look forward to bringing the Group’s exemplary service standards to Abu Dhabi and to introducing the brand to a new audience.”

The hotel will transform into a Mandarin Oriental property following a phased renovation spanning two years, during which time it will remain open. Renovations will entail elegant upgrades to the gem’s guestrooms and recreational amenities, and will also see the addition of new, exquisite F&B facilities.

Perched on a 1.3-kilometre private beachfront, Emirates Palace is home to 394 impressively appointed guestrooms and suites, 12 superb restaurants and bars, 40 cutting-edge meeting rooms, a concert grade auditorium and a superlative ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,500 people. Leisure facilities include a picturesque marina, two swimming pools, a luxurious spa and two fitness centres.

Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi is centrally located in the heart of the city, conveniently situated for both leisure and business travellers, with the Grand Mosque and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre a short drive away.
