Radiating luxury from head to toe, the new-build Anantara Tozeur Resort in Tunisia will be on hand to woo each and every guest to pass through its lavish doors with its Arabian and North African design. In the perfect location for those yearning to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the hotel is surrounded by mysterious desert, majestic palms and glistening salt lakes.

Anantara Tozeur Resort boasts 93 thoughtfully designed units, made up of Deluxe Sahara View Rooms, one- and two-bedroom villas and pool villas. Its facilities include five dining outlets, an Arabian Cultural Village, an Anantara Spa with six treatment rooms and a hammam, a Kids’ Club, floodlit tennis courts and a fitness club with a yoga studio.

“We are so proud to debut our luxury Anantara brand in North Africa with the launch of this spectacular resort in the desert in Tunisia,” said CEO, Minor Hotels, Dillip Rajakarier (the parent company of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas). “Anantara Tozeur is truly a world-class resort and will bring new levels of Arabian hospitality and luxury to this stunning country.”

For those wishing to acquaint themselves with Tunisia’s charming local culture and history, the beautiful resort offers tailored excursions to Tozeur’s Medina. Visitors can also opt to take a traditional horse and carriage to one of the verdant palm groves, where they can taste the queen of all dates, Deglet Nou, or travel out of the city to the abandoned 14th century Berber villages of Chebika, Tamerza and Mides, north of Tozeur.

Other adventures include exploring the Sahara Desert in a luxurious 4x4 vehicle; driving through expansive desert scenery on a guided quad bike adventure to Chott el Djerid, the largest salt lake in the Sahara Desert; and embarking on a camel trekking adventure through desert plains and palm oases.

Finally, Star Wars fans will be delighted to hear that Tozeur is home to numerous scenes from the original trilogy and prequels, with dedicated Star Wars-themed programmes awaiting them at Anantara Tozeur Resort.
