Hotel Ritz Madrid, Madrid, Spain Review

Oozing classical European elegance, I was welcomed to Hotel Ritz Madrid by attentive doormen who ushered me through an expansive and impressively opulent foyer to the reception desk. Bathed in golden light, decorated in wood and marble, a soothing ambience pervades the foyer which features a winding staircase, an elegant atrium and access to a grand dining room.

As a Belle Epoque property, retaining many of its original features, Hotel Ritz Madrid is blessed with a natural timeless charisma. My bedroom suite had a hallway with two rooms – a traditional bedroom and a spacious bathroom featuring a rain shower, a separate bath tub and Penhaligon amenities. My bedroom overlooked the hotel’s garden terrace restaurant, so if I listened carefully I could hear the soothing jazz infused lilt of a piano floating through the summer night.

This Orient Express property is situated conveniently in the Art Walk of Madrid close to cultural attractions such as the Prado Museum.
