Creativity and exclusivity with Cheval Blanc

With a vision steeped in the values of intricate craftsmanship, creativity and exclusive privacy, the upscale Cheval Blanc hotel brand, part of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, comprising the outstanding Cheval Blanc Courchevel, France, and the stunning Cheval Blanc Randheli, Maldives, is one of the worlds most prolific brands, sought after only by those who blend in with its prestigious status.

Olivier Lefebvre, head of hotel activities, LVMH Hotel Management, shares exclusively with MENA Luxury the ideology behind the interior details which make the brand the pioneer that it is: “Our vision is used as a filter in every decision that is taken regarding our properties. This is therefore equally true when it comes to the choice of furniture, fabrics, decorative elements, artworks, amenities, fragrances and more, each of which ought to add something to the guest experience.”

Prioritising beauty

Lefebvre explained that Cheval Blanc furnishing choices differ greatly to those of larger hotel groups.

“We wish our guests to experience the finer things in life, as they would in their own homes. We therefore favour the uniqueness, beauty or comfort of an object over its durability. Every Maison's choices are unique to its specificities as we seek to create a portfolio of properties each with its distinct personality.”

The quintessential expression

Lefebvre explained that Cheval Blanc’s interior selection process focuses on finding the most suitable product for each circumstance.

“This often leads us either to choose specific pieces from a brand's collection, or to design our own products (custom made furniture, commissioned artworks, purposely designed amenities) working hand-in-hand with leading experts. For example, at Cheval Blanc Courchevel we designed a lightweight polycarbonate tray in collaboration with Chef Yannick Alléno that eases our waiter's work; our interior designer Sibylle de Margerie designed a cow skin high chair perfectly suited for Courchevel's mountain chalet décor and that includes a handy tray to store the child's toys. At Cheval Blanc Randheli we worked with Dior's nez to create a fragrance specific to the Maldives, which is used throughout our bathroom amenities and as as signature fragrance for the Maison.”
